Day 8 - 5/22/2001 - Day of the Castles!
Weather: Cloudy, but warm
Location: Fussen, Germany!
Today was my day! After saying goodbye to Manuel, we hopped on another 2 hour train bound for Fussen! When we arrived, we checked into the nicest hotel yet (and we're on the first floor! Yeah!).
 We grabbed a quick something to eat in town (a Bavarian special for me!) and hopped in a cab bout for Castle Newschwanstein <sp?>. It was amazing! they wouldn't let us take any pictures indoors, so we took a lot of exterior shots to compensate!

Hoschwengow Castle -->
Neuschwanstein was a much more modern and beautiful castle than Hochwangow. Hilary was feeling well so we decided to take it easy, grab some dinner and just go to bed early. (Hilary's snoring while I'm writing this at 8:30 PM!) =)
At dinner, I tried to order Sour Brautten, but I couldn't find a place that made it. I got "Scherim Braughtten" instead which was like a port pot roast. It was really good!
Looking back into the Newschwanstein book that I bought, it's neat to visit a castle so rich in mystery ... and the setting for Gabriel Knight 2! =)
It was a fun day. I just hope all this rest makes Hilary feel better tomorrow.
