Nintendo’s birthplace!

Wonderful breakfast buffet!  The kids were in heaven. And had at least three ice creams.

It turned out to be really hot today! 94 degrees.  Went to train museum and it was all little kids around us! We found Tomas the tank engine and what looked like Tidmouth sheds!

The boys climbed inside all the older model Shinkansen trains. Pretty neat! But we were overrun with little kids so we left for lunch.

Ate in the basement of the Kyoto tower.  Had Korean chicken with Jacob. Hilary a Ben had rice bowls and sushi!  All was delicious and amazing.

We made our way over to the Nintendo museum! Amazing! They had everything they’ve ever produced over their 150ish years!

So many items over the years!  Jake and I just went down memory lane for all the video games. Then there was an interactive exhibit downstairs Jake and I played on an oversized SNES (or rather super famicom) controller and sped through 5 minutes of super Mario world.  We got really far and we had people behind us cheering by the end.  We each took turns being the one to do the directional pad and which would hit the buttons.  It was very fun!

Then we went to a classic games section and played some old games there for a while, and then we played with a giant shooting gallery screen which was the best!  I got second place among 13 players! It was a custom new shooting game just for this place.  Amazing!

After perusing the gift shop, we took a family picture from a woman from PA near state college!  What are the odds!

We ate curry across the street which was pretty good and took a train back to Kyoto to shop for portable electric fans for tomorrow.
