Breakfast at family mart! https://youtu.be/wk9geCUggUw?si=1eDmvmE7QsB9r2v9 Andrew took us to our next destination. A beautiful lookout pagoda that shows mt Fuji and the city surrounding it Climbed 400 stairs! Had to stop a few times. There was a switchback ramp we took after a while. Lovely shade and trees. Saw three corgis! Owner was taking a picture of all of them in front of mt Fuji. Walked down and got the best lemonade and iced ginger tea of our lives. Next stop was at Lake Kawaguchiko! A lake with a beautiful garden! Saw flowers we’ve never seen before. So many people from different countries. Best peach ice cream. Blissed out as I ate my ice cream in the air conditioned cafe staring out over the lake and the mountain behind it. We walked through the garden and saw all these flowers we’d never seen before. Then went back to Andrew for our next stop: lunch! We took an hour drive up switchback roads (no one got sick!) and were at 7400 feet up mt Fuji! It’s still covered in clouds but we can see some of the snow. It’s not safe to hike up to the peak for another month. Yeah, that’s why we didn’t do it… rriiiight. Drive back down to a peddler’s village type place that had a lot of street food and shops. We were full so we didn’t get too much. There was one vendor that had me give free samples to other people Then he wanted me to hug random strangers, and I stopped there! Haha. But we did buy some peach tea mix from him. There were people drinking from the springs at the base of Fuji. And we realized ooooh, like the Fuji bottled water! It is very pure, but we we chickened out as we were afraid of bacteria or something. We saw mt Fuji fully here! It was so big! Then we went to our hotel which is an amazing classic place. The view from our room is right on the lake with Fuji in full view across from the lake. It is stunning! We could see the whole mountain by sitting on a table facing a giant window taking in the view. We got settled and then went to dinner with a high pot! We celebrated Ben and Jake’s graduation. We had dessert in the lounge!
